I have a predicament! And until its sorted i cannot choose my colour scheme, or much else for that matter!

Liam (bless him) wants to wear his number 1s ceremonial uniform to get married. Its a really dark navy colour, almost black with all the little shoulder details and sash and all the rest of it, with the hat and boots and whatnot. As its ceremonial he would have to wear his medal aswell.

I have issues with it... i want to keep our wedding day army-free. Especially as if the groom wears his no.1s, his friends & best man (all soldiers) will wear theirs. Which means they are all wearing exactly the same.... you wouldn't catch me and the bridesmaids wearing the same dress, so why should they wear the same outfit!!!

The only difference between him and them would be a red rope thing that ties through his shoulder... which i cant stand, it looks messy :dohh:

But he is determined. Id rather him wear a lovely suit, have the guys all in a similar one but not EXACTLY the same iykwim? He should stand out above them imo.

:( Help... how can i convince him suits are the way to go?!

Oh bless you - I'm no help because I love a man in military uniform at weddings! x

And just to add... he wants to get Harrison a mini version to wear :dohh:

Dont get me wrong the no1s are lovely, but ... i dont like the army, i dont want it at my wedding :(

Thats a difficult one, cant be much help Im afraid but I also love a man in uniform. Is there anyone else that may be able to sway him, like his mother :)s) or a best mate??

Im sure he'll come round to an army free wedding if he dwells on it a bit because you want a break from the army lifestyle for one day tell him!

I dont like the idea of matching childrens uniform perosnally either :(

Just tell him that you want your wedding to be perfect and that your struggling to find colours to match?
surely he would give up wearing that for your special day then hun :)

xx

tough one because it is most likely important to him.

maybe suggest a army free wedding but with a blessing later on where they can all wear their army uniforms?

So far the only response i get is "no" to certain suits... but he hasn't specifically said no to a suit full stop. might take him suit-hunting, get him to try things on - part of it is he knows the army stuff suits him, whereas he never wears smart clothes.... hmm.

looks like i need to take him window shopping :haha:

I cant help when i got married i wanted my husband in uniform and the best man and his brothers and RAF friends. I love the number 1s they wear and they all looked very smart.

maybe its important to him to wear them and its his special day aswell

I was going suggest taking him suit hunting and see what he thinks, and maybe suggest that he could wear his miltery uniform at the reception or evening do?.If its really important to him to wear them then maybe some kind of comprimise could be made.I am no help I know!:haha:xx

Maybe he could wear it too the wedding as imo being part of the army can be a huuuge part of a persons life and it probally means alot to him and then you could persuade him to change into a suit for the reception that way you get some different photos and he can relax and not worry about being in uniform whilst eating and drinking??
