Phonecall from FOB

Got a missed call yesterday off FOB with a voicemail asking me to ring him back as he wanted to talk about "stuff". So I (very reluctantly) rang him....

It was basically that he wanted to meet up as he was in my area with his family over the weekend. Told him no. Anyway....the thing he said that annoyed me was this....

"I dont know what you're family are thinking of me right now but obviously I'm gonna have to be up there around your due date so that I can be there and come to the hospital"

WTF???!!!!!

He lives 3 hours away max.....not the other side of the world. I'm expecting to be in labour longer than 3 hours.....and he isn't gonna be there for the delivery. In fact he won't be able to see me or baby until visiting hours.....so even if I ring him when I'm on my way to hospital and he comes straight away it could still mean that he'll be sitting around for hours!

Seriously, does he expect to come up here on the 1st of January, stay here at my mum and dads when I might not even have the baby until the 14th.......

total same as FOB for me, he thinks if he comes up a few days before im due it'll be ok and then he will come to hosp... LIKE thats gonna happen, what hes gonna pay for a bnb for possibly 2 weeks?! over xmas, and then new year once shes here? and his bday is the 8th, YEH RIGHT. hes not gonna come up, ive realised this, he will say he will but when it comes down to it he wont.

God its amazing how all these plonkers that we were with are all the same, They talk the biggest load of w*nk. They are all full of good intensions and make all these promises that we down rite know they are not gonna keep. Do they seriously think we are that stupid. God they make me soooo angry at times!!

This made me smile this moring! So true!

I would think three hours is plenty of time for him to make his way there since he won't be seeing you or the baby until visiting times anyway! xx

Just dont tell him when you go into labour heehee

Or if he wants to be around on your due date, tell him he will have to stay in a bnb, but dont expect to be able to see you everyday, or be able to call you, as you will be busy doing other things. Or you could just say to him, that youve already chosen your birth partners, and he is not one of them.... heehee

God they aint half irritating!

Hehe, glad I'm not the only one that finds this annoying!!

He knows he's not my birthing partner....so I'm not sure why he thinks he needs to be at the hospital straight away. He seems to be playing the good father all of a sudden. Was a completely different story a few months ago.

I just said no, that there was no point!! I'm only planning on telling him when I'm on my way to the hospital. I could be at home in labour for a day or more, and no way do I want him turning up on my doorstep!!!!!

Your being nice letting him know when your on your way to the hospital in my opinion lol... im not letting my fob know until she is here lol I know he wont even bother to turn up at the hospital, but im not taking any risk that he may do! He will just stress me out!

Yeah mine is all of a sudden trying to play the good daddy... funny how he only bothers when his friends are around... i think they do it to make themselves look better... or to stop them from feeling guilty!
