I tried to teach some signs to my first when she was a baby. She didn't end up picking up on anything except for "more," but she didn't pick it up until she could say it! Leo on the other hand, is just short of 8 months, and he has been doing "more" for a while now. I just noticed today that he also seemed to sign "potty." I took him and he went. It may have been a coincidence, but hey, that's part of the learning process too! I also prompted him with it a few times when I thought he needed to go and he repeated it back. He then peed in the potty. I'm excited and impressed by him picking up signs since his sister never did and now I'd like to expand the array of signs I expose him to since he's obviously learning them. What signs is your baby picking up on? How old were they for their first sign?
