Hi all, I have been for my gynae apt at the hospital today and have been put on Metformin and Medroxyprogestrone tablets. Hopefully this will give my PCO's a kick and get me back to normal again. I have also been told to lose some weight as my BMI is 32. (I nearly fell off my chair when she said this, I could not believe it was that high!!!) Apparently you need to have a BMI of a maximum of 30 to be helped by the fertiliy specialists, so i need to get running i thinks!!

Is anyone else in the same situation as me and on these drugs? and advice about them at all please would be great!!! :)

Im not in the same boat but I do need to get my BMI down before I go and see the fertility clinic just so that im prepared.

Good luck for getting your BFP with these new tablets, I hope it happens soon for you x x x

Metformin will help getting your weight down but there are some side effects. When you start taking it, you may be in the bathroom quite a bit the first week or two.

The best diet I have found for PCOS while taking metformin is a low carb diet. It also helps with the side effects of the metformin. I got my bmi down from 33% to to 26 and hopefully in ten more pounds I will be right under 25%. I did this through diet and exercising 5 times a week. It is possible and it is attainable.

Good Luck!

Thanks for letting me know that!! I am a little worried about the side affects, but I am willing to do what it takes. I will start taking them tomorrow. :)
