placenta question

does it make a difference where your placenta is?
i saw the doctor write down that my placenta is at the back
what does this mean?
does it have any effect on labor?
does the placenta ever move? that might be a stupid question but i dont know..

It doesn't really matter unless it's very low and covering babies exit! As your uterus grows it tends to move upwards anyway. Mines down quite low at the front.

Yep, mine is low and at the front, but it is not covering the cervix. That is when it is a problem.

Yep I agree with the others. I've also heard that if your placenta is in the front it can be a bit harder for you to feel LO's movements, especially early on in the pregnancy.....not sure how true that is though.

I agree with the other girls, its only if its fully covering or semi covering the cervix that there is cause for worry.

Yep... mine is at the front over to the right a little, and I cant feel any movements on that side, or when I listen to the HB I can never get it on that side... but it is pretty cool cause when I use my doppler I can put it over the placenta and hear all the swooshing and pulsing. I wonder if it will make the ultrasound harder to get a good look? I guess we'll see, only 9 more days, hehehe!!!

I was told mine was posterior, which is supposedly good.
