Playing or feeding??

Hi

Just wanted a bit of advice from other breastfeeding mums (and possibly bottle feeding mums may have experienced this too)...

When Harry is feeding, he occassionally decides to "play" instead of feeding... He will open his mouth, shake his head around and then start talking to me instead of feeding. He will do this at varrious stages of his feed and will then cry if he's taken off and winded!

I thought it was down to wind (but he doesn't always bring wind up afterwards) or because he wasn't hungry (but he'll sometimes latch back on and feed properly), so now I'm not sure why he does it!!

Any advice? Anyone else had this problem?

Hannah does this with her bottle and we just leave the bottle in her mouth...she eventually goes back to eating after a while

Sam does it if he's more a bit peckish than totally ravenous..lol Likes to stop to chit chat and boob squish with a nip half out his mouth for a minute or two.

Glad it's not just me... If I try to get him latched back on he sometimes ends up chewing on my nipple, so I've got to be really careful with him!! He's a nightmare some days and I've even threatened to stop breastfeeding him, but he always wins me back round with a smile and feeding really well next time round.
