please help..ordering a wedding dress smaller??

Yesterday i went wedding dress shopping and fell in love with a dress..
I tried on a size 14..and it needed to be taken in..
They took my measurements and everything was size 12 by their sizing apart from my stomach (which is size 14) i had my 2nd baby 5 months ago..!
I posted a threqd in gs saying i didnt want to get marriee yet as im not comfortable with my body ect and i want to excercise and lose weight..
I know everyone probably.says this but im so serious its getting me down..
Problem is ive now ordered a size 14..as they said i had to sign a disclaimer if i went against their advice..which freaked me out..
So now i have no idea what to.do..
They said they can take the dress in by up to 2 inches../one dress size..so itd go.to a size 12..but all my measurements are already 12 apart from stomch which was written as 12/14
The dress ive picked is very tight fitted and needa to be (mermaid dress) and im so stresaed now that ill loose weight..get it fitted and it will still be too big??
What do i do? Im so confused!

What sort of back did it have? If it was a lace up a 12 should be fine and if it's a zip up maybe think about ordering the 12 anyway and if it is too tight close to your big day get the back converted to a lace up.

im not exactly sure what you mean chick? how far away is your wedding?

are you trying to lose more weight? or are you just worried about it being too tight on your tummy after its been taken in?

they will alter it to your exact measurements so it will only be made smaller in the areas it needs to be

if you ARE trying to lose more weight im pretty sure they'll be able to take it in a bit more than 2" if necessary... they just say that as a guide to stop people ordering dresses that are miles too big coz it would take too much work on their part to alter them iykwim?

have a chat with them at the bridal shop & im sure they'll be happy to put your mind at ease

your final fitting will be around 6wks before your wedding so just make sure you dont lose/gain any weight after then & you'll be fine xx

I was pregnant and supposed to be 7-8 months pregnant at my wedding. I ended up having to deliver her 2 weeks before the wedding. They had me order a dress 2 sizes too big. When I went for my fitting after getting out of the hospital it literally fell off of me. They would have had to remake the whole dress. I told them they needed to get me the right size. They had it overnighted from another store and it fit nearly perfect. They only had to bring the sides under my arms in a bit. Ask them if that would be an option if your size changes. Also if its just a tiny bit they should be able to take the stomach out to make it fit if its the only area too small.

People advise to take dresses in only a certain amount but mine was a size 12 and taken into an 8, it was in perfect shape and you would never have know it. Also, i had it done by someone who worked at home rather than in a shop and it cost me only £50

Why dont you just wait until your mesaurements are what you want and then order it in the right size? My dress had to be let out cause of my hips and it could only be let out a little bit, not as much as they had hoped but cause i had ordered it so far in advance there was nothing i could do!

My wedding dress was off the rail and fitted perfectly it was just the length that needed taking up but with my bridesmaids dresses I ordered them bigger than they needed to be and got them taken in and honestly you would never have been able to tell.

If I were you I'd get it bigger and take it else where to be altered, it will cost more to take a dress out than it will to take in and you an always leave the fitting until 4ish weeks before so you know you're shape won't change too much in that time.

Why dont you just wait until your mesaurements are what you want and then order it in the right size? My dress had to be let out cause of my hips and it could only be let out a little bit, not as much as they had hoped but cause i had ordered it so far in advance there was nothing i could do!

Were trying to get married quickly as ohs dad is terminally ill and oh wants him at our wedding..
I tried looking for one off the rack but didnt like any..then loved the one i ordered so ordered it straight away to save wasting time x

Were planning to get married in around 6 months..
I wanted to loose weight before then but was told to order the size i am now ..but ifi lose as much weight as id like the dress would be too big..
Which is ok as they can take it down a dress size..but most of my body is size 12..just my stomach thats a 14..(baby belly)
Im just concerned tjat ill lose weight off all my measurrments and it will only be taken down to a size 12..
I rang the shop back and i feel abit better now..
Im havibg it altered in store as my mum prepaid for a package so i can have it fitted as many times as i need..also the seamstress has worked for vivienne westwood so im hoping she can work her magic on it!! Im hoping :/
I think im just panicking as i dont have long to take it all in and lose weight then find a dress ect x
