Please help

Currently i live at home with my parents and my 1 month old baby and my partner still lives with his mum.

Im obviously looking after baby full time and dont work and my partner works full time Mon-Fri.

We are are bidding on council housing but this is going to take years to get a place. Now we are looking at normal renting a flat but the cheapest is roughly £775 a month which we cant afford. Is there any money help i can get so we can rent a flat? my partner after bills has left roughly £900 month.

Please someone help its driving me crazy

If you can try and save up enough for a deposit and first months rent to get a place you can apply for housing benefit, I'd do your sums first though because I assume you wouldn't get all your rent paid for with his wages x

My partner does have money put away roughly 6k due to a family member dieing, So this can be used to help.

But will i defo be able to get housing benefit

I'm not sure hun which is why I think you should ask first just incase you wouldn't be, I'm not sure what the thresholds are, if he's got savings that can affect claims, you would get working tax credits living with him but again I'm not too sure what because he has quite a good wage x

Ive just read they will care if your savings are over 16k, is this true?
