Hi everyone. I think i have a sinus infection and im obviously really scared of what it can do to the baby if it gets worse or anything.
Has anyone had this? What did your doctor say was ok to use? Any home remedies? Please help if you know anything about this. Thank you!!

I assume you mean a really bad cold/grotty head etc? Or do you mean something more serious??

If it's the former, I doubt it'll harm the baby - just miserable for you. I've had horrid sinuses for the last few weeks and my MW told me I should take lots of Tylenol (within the normal limits obviously - think it's one dose every 4hrs) and as many lozenges as I can get down me. Also to have hot showers to try to get the phlegm up and to try eucalpytus (sp?) oil on my pillow.

If it's more serious than that, I'd call your doctor: I've had friends who've been prescribed antibiotics whilst pregnant so there'll probably be something you can take.

I had a sinus & ear infection for 3 weeks at the end of 1st tri/beginning of 2nd tri and I got antibiotics eventually that cleared it up. At home you can try Tylenol for pain, steam & BreatheRight strips for congestion, and I took Zyrtec to dry everything up.

Thank you ladies. Ive had really bad pains so gave in to nasal decongestant spray for now. Its a bit better but i guess ill give tylenol a try.
Im just super worried because i read if infection gets into your blood it can possibly triger preterm labor. And i just dont want it getting near my baby :(
Thanks again!!

I've had 4 sinus infections this pregnancy and Have chronic sinus infections... if it truly a sinus infection..

Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate!!! The more you drink the thinner the gunk will be and the easier it will drain.

Sleep at an angle to help drainage.

Boil cinnamon in a pot of water and breath it in. The steam will help as well as the cinnamon having a gentle anti bacterial property.

Eucalyptus oil is actually not currently approved for use during pregnancy.

Saline sprays can help greatly.

Heat rice in a clean sock or a heat pack and put it under your eyes on your sinuses to help with drainage.

If I remember anything else I use regularly I will post that lol.

Thank you!! Honestly saline sprays did nothing for me :( and with all the worry i totally forgot to drink enough fluids. Its been better today thankfully but i feel like everything ive done so far is pain relief, is there anything i can do to actually kill/fight bacteria?? Or do i just wait for it to pass?

Inhale the cinnamon steams it has anti bacterial properties.
