Nikita Raine
Please, please read:
I love the name Nikita, I can use Nicky or Kitty as short names (which I love).
It's of Greek origin, most popular in Russia. I've, personally, only seen it used once by a Middle Eastern/Indian (and was surprised to see it used by anyone!). So, it's very rare, even more so in the U.S.
I've been flirting with this name for a short time, about 3-4 years. I love the name Nicky (for a boy or a girl), but I don't like the names Nicole or Nicolette or just plain Nicky. I like to have variations for any one name.
Most people have a negative or blah-zay reaction to it.
Raine will be her middle name for sentimental reasons.
I know people will say to go with my own heart on a name (and I probably will). But I really want to know whether it will be shunned. I don't take well to negative reactions and wouldn't want to subject my child to any sort of automatic criticism.
The back up name is the very popular Isabella. I've had this name chosen for several decades but now that I'm in my child-bearing years it has shot to the top 4, which leaves me shying away.
My son's name is Keaton. People seem to have trouble hearing it correctly and always repeat "Kaiden?"
I don't know if saying "Keaton and Nikita" has a good flow.
Nikita doesn't seem as delicate as Isabella. But I love Nicky and Kitty more than Izzy for short. I'm just kind of torn!
Please help me with your honest opinions!! Thank you!
