OK I'm moving out of my parents home and OH is moving out of his parents to a new home in the next 4-5 weeks going house hunting tomorrow and well here is my lists of what I need, might need and have.

I've got the mothercare checklist and the only thing u could be missing is the clips to clips the car seat onto the buggy if you can do that with ur buggy? & there are some breastfeeding things on the list if ur going to breastfeed. You could get the bottle brush for cleaning the bottles, Muslin squares for baby sick and drool, bibs, baby carrier if u don't want to use the buggy all the time. Nail scissors and nasal aspirator, thermometer, nappies and wipes, bath support, non slip mat, changing mat, nappy pail, nappy bags, baby box for toiletries, cot mobile, play gym and cot light.

You don't appear to have anything to sit on in the front room? Sofa, chairs, beanbags maybe lol - we started out with those as we couldn't afford a sofa and something to cook on at first! Although ex wasn't impressed as he would've been quite happy with takeaway every night hmmm

Food tongs for kitchen, life saver for getting food out of oven/grill. and a little table for next to settee in living room for drinks, remotes etc to go on. Ooh soo much fun for you, i moved out last year and it is soo exciting but stressful to remember everything. Not sure about the baby list, i need to start mine too but if i can think of anything else i will find thread. Good luck with new home.

Unfurnished properties are much nicer, they would give you horrid old crusty furniture that isn't your taste otherwise. So at least your place will be more personal.

You wont need a highchair for a while so scribble that off your list to cut costs

Before i moved into my house i picked up little bits as i went along, these were from places like tesco, asda, ikea etc. Things like, cutlery, house phone etc. They were very cheap, and not good quality but over the last 2 years we have replaced things as we have gone along.
As for the bigger items we focused on ebay. We bought a 6 month old next sofa and chair (rrp £1200) for £300!!! We also bought a new vax hoover, Antony Worral Thompson pans for cheap.
