So DH and I are trying for our first..now let me tell you that I am by no means "skinny". I am 5'5 and about 274 lbs..I do hold my weight very well though might I add. We just got married and I am now under his insurance so was going to make an appointment (if no luck this cycle) to get checked out since I don't think I ovulate regularly. I have periods sometimes every 60-70 days..I am very anxious to get pregnant. We haven't been preventing for over a year now and no luck! I feel like it will never happen..I am working out and working on my weight but honestly don't wanna lose it all until after I have the baby because I will just gain weight anyways..help! What do I tell the doctor to be put on some type of Medication to help my ovulation? My family is VERY fertile and we aren't small people..is it normal to think I will never get pregnant?!

Everyone has told me the same thing about being overweight.

Ttc has emotions that are just ... unpredictable. Try your best to stay positive. Getting healthy is not just about losing weight. Think about it, your baby has to live inside of you for 9 months. Don't want you the best insides as possible?

For me, every month I get a bfn, I look at the positive side of having 1 more month of getting heather, taking my vitamins, working on incorporating positive healthy eating into my daily routine. It's not easy... cause let me tell you, when AF books her ticket, my sugar cravings go out the roof!

Focus on the positive, pray on the negative, give the rest to God.

Ms Friendly,

I'm right there with you. I'm 5'5" and 205 currently. We haven't been trying as long as you have, but i totally understand the struggle. I started eating healthier for me and so that when I do get my BFP my baby gets a healthier mommy :) Though my main weight loss goals probably wont happen until after we've had our baby, I do want to lose some weight, just to help me have a healthy pregnancy.

WITH that said. I LOVE bread and cheese. lol. ANd it's girl scout cookie season... SOOOOOO it's been tough.

Not to mention, I too feel like I am never going to get pregnant. If my sister gets looked at wrong she gets pregnant and my cousin just announced she's due in August. Not to mention I already have several pregnant friends so it's definitely getting hard to have a positive attitude. I have been down the past few days, but I worked out tonight and I'm feeling better about everything. Funny how those endorphins work! :)

As for Dr.s I would definitely go and see if there is anything they can go about your ovulation. I bought the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor to help narrow down my Ovulation without temping. This is my first cycle using it, so I will keep you posted, but all the reviews are great on it.

:dust: to you and hopefully we get our BFP soon!

I would see a doctor. You may have PCOS or something else causing your long cycles. In the meantime, try to focus on getting healthier because that will definitely help in the long run. Losing weight can help regulate your cycles and bring hormones back to normal. Good luck.
