polycystic ovaries/confused

Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries 2 years ago and told that I'd never be able to conceive. Last week I had very light pink blood for 3 days. I went to the doctors which was a different doctor and he asked if there was a chance I could be pregnant I said "no my doctor said I can't have children" and he said "of course you can, polycystic ovaries just makes it harder", I knew that was true although from what my doctor said I just believed him as when he did an ovulation test 2 years ago that was when he said it. I took a pregnancy test on the last day of the spotting which was just a cheap poundland one and the result was negative. I told the doctor and he said that I took the test too early as I'd only had my last period on 5th August and to test again if I'm late on my next period.

I'm very confused at the moment as I've gone from believing and being heart broken about not being able to conceive because one doctor said I couldn't to getting the pink spotting for 3 days last week and suddenly being told I can have children and might even be pregnant!

I have ordered some pregnancy tests but they are the Wonfo ones which I'm slightly weary about as I've heard they give false results from doing google searches. Another thing is I've been reading up more on polycystic ovaries and found a lot of posts from women with polycystic ovaries who have had negative results far into their pregnancy and some even say they've had their period during pregnancy.

for the last week I've felt slightly ill in the morning, my stomaches very bloated and I keep getting cramping in my stomach as if I'm going to have a period.

I just need some advice really and hope I've made sense and not confused you as much as I'm confused lol

Hi, just nipped in over from 1st trimester. PCOS does not mean you're infertile! My mum has PCOS and so do I. Doctors told my mum the same thing and she has 4 kids inc me. I'm also now pregnant, I'm 13 weeks. I started taking metformin tablets prescribed by the doctor 3months before I conceived, think it really helped me as I got a quick result! You could possibly be pregnant, before I took my test I felt like I was about to have my period and feeling ill is also a pregnancy symptom. I would say take the test and it should give you a result, if you're unsure of it you could always go to the doctors who could do a blood test on you instead. I've also heard of women with PCOS having periods during pregnancy. I say go visit this different doctor again as he seems to have sense. It really annoys me when doctors tell women with PCOS they cant conceive. PCOS is actually quite common and loads of women with this condition end up having kids. Hope all goes well for you and its a positive result! x

Hello, Thank you very much it's all been driving me crazy, unfortunately I can't test at the moment as I have no money for a few days. I waited in for the tests for 4 days but they weren't with the post including today so will have to wait a bit longer but I'll try and get an appointment booked with my doctors, I've been having trouble sleeping due to the bloating I'm just really uncomfortable. Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you very much for the reassurance this weeks been life changing for me learning that I can after 2 years of believing I couldn't and hearing success stories are even more reassuring for me even than the doctor.

Thanks!! If you are pregnant, bloating is gonna be ur new best friend! Lol. I drink a glass of water and I look like I'm 5months pregnant atleast! I know what you mean about hearing success stories, I felt the same way, for some reason doctors words dont always seem convincing. Hope all goes well for you and even if its not the result you want atleast you know theres a chance of you getting pregnant. Dont give up hope! x

I've been bloated for a week and been asked if I'm pregnant by a few people because of it lol. That's true and I find every doctor I see says something different about different things mostly the complete opposite of what the other said like with the PCOS. Thank you that's exactly how I feel as I haven't exactly been trying but never used anything because I believed I couldn't until last week although I have got my hopes up a bit too much at the moment, trying to calm myself down lol I'm only one day late so far at the moment but as soon as I can I will test. Thank you that's how I'm looking at it at the moment even if I'm not I know there's a chance I could x
