Has any body had to have a polyp removed from their uterus?? Is it a painful procedure??

I haven't had to have one removed, but they think I have one.

I think the surgery is just a keyhole surgery or at worst a laparoscopy which is quite uncomfortable but with enough rest its easy enough to recover from.

Do you have one? Have they told you what they want to do about it? :hugs: :hugs:

My MIL had it done and was only off the weekend, she said it really wasn't bad

I do have one which they think may be the cause of my irregular bleeding, it has to be removed as i want to move ahead with ivf and the specialist recommends its gone!! She said it was a quick procedure but i hate having a general aneasthetic!!

The Dr said she will get it vaginally with a small camera and what ever else used to remove it!!

General anaesthetic isn't nice, but if they're getting it vaginally then there shouldn't be too long a recovery time :hugs:

With some good tlc afterwards I'm sure you'll be fine, just some bleeding and cramping pains. Not fun, have they said how long you'll need to wait for the op? Or how long you have to wait afterwards for the ivf?

Its booked in for the 8th of November!! The Dr then wants us to try naturally for one more cycle and then we can get the ball rolling to start IVF!

Hey there. I just found out I have a polyp as well. Did you ever have surgery??

I was booked into have it removed next Tuesday but apart from the fact my AF has now showed up, i decided to postpone it until the new year. Sorry i couldn't help more.

Does your polyp cause you problems?

Nope no problems and only found it because I had an HSG to check my tubes because I wasn't ovulating. Well good luck to you!!
