Sophie hadn't done a poo for I think two days, and the last couple of times it was just what we call in this house "rabbit droppings" (just tiny little bits!) so it's maybe a week since she did a really proper one.

This morning I was drying my hair and she came looking for me saying she had done a poo in her pants and she was all upset. (she is 100% toilet trained for wees but still won't poo in the toilet or in her potty). So I started dealing with it and there was an absolutely massive bit and a load of small bits, and two of the small bits looked like they had a trace of blood in them :(

I'm just concerned about the blood - it was just a tiny trace but still....I'm hoping it was just that the other bit was so huge it maybe caused a little cut or something on the way out? Could that have made traces of blood in the other bits though? There was absolutely nothing when I wiped her though, and nothing in the massive bit that I could see.

Sorry for the too much information, just not sure whether to worry or not. x

Toby gets constipated sometimes and has had blood on his poo when its been a bit hard - is it on the poo or mixed in?
Fresh blood usually means its just hard poo thats scraped the side a bit.
Take her to the drs if u are worried hun I did when it first happened with toby x

it looked just like a little line of blood along the top of it, if that makes sense. The big bit was so huge I was wondering how she managed it so maybe it did scrape the sides. x

Thats what it sounds like to me hun - tmi but I get it a lot due to ibs and iv always been told fresh blood is usually from a fissure x

that was my first thought when I saw the size of the main bit, and it was probably quite hard with it having been so long since a proper poo.

I'll just keep an eye on it and see what happens next time, whenever that might be!

Thank you for your help :) xx

I agree it sounds like she had to push too hard and it either scraped her when coming out (fissure) or she may have hemmoroids, internal or external.

TMI but I also have this type of issue, and I also have IBS, so it's probably something like that and not to worry unless it's a ton of blood and/or not bright red blood.

If you or your OH have IBS/bowel issues, it's genetic and therefore could explain her issues.

Try MiraLax to help loosen things up for her, and make sure she is eating enough fiber and drinking enough water. Otherwise there isn't much of a "cure"

We give fig syrup every few days to help keep things moving and moist. LO bungs up easily and then is sick if haven't pooed for a while, i guess cuz literally there's no more room.
We both have IBS so doesn't stand a chance really!
