I was wondering at what point you all introduced your baby to a pool? Was it chlorine or salt? How about the ocean?

I live in Florida and keeping cool is necessary. With #2 she was in a pool by 6 months.

How about your LO?

Well I can't say for my own babe, but my sister put all her LOs in the pool by 6 months. She wouldn't do it before then as their immune systems aren't as good, you cant put sunscreen on a baby younger than 6 months, and because the younger they are the harder it is for them to regulate temperature. My LG will be too young for the pool this year so she wont get to experience a pool until she's 1 yr old as that'll be next summer.

My LO was 2 months old. It was an indoor salt pool. She loved it and it was great. :)

With DS he was around 8 weeks old (indoor chlorine baby pool for baby swim lessons) DD is yet to go in a pool because I don't feel I can keep them both safe on my own. Will be in the pool on holiday when OH can help me!

By 2 months with ds (indoor chlorinated) not had the chance with baby yet - same reasons as above.
Ds went in the sea at 8 months and loved it, I'd probably wait for baby to be sitting before taking in the sea so that they are stable when you carry them with one arm. We went actual swimming up to my shoulder depth but I was with dh and 2 other strong male swimmers from his family. I'd never do it alone except for a little paddle at the edge.
Xx

The rather was nice Andy mom opened her pool, outdoor chlorine, when he was 3 months and he's been in since (had indoor swim lessons over the winter and back outside now)

Started swimming lessons at three months old with DS which was an indoor hydrotherapy pool which we still go to. DD went in her first pool at 6 weeks on holiday last week which was an indoor chlorinated pool. She went in a wet suit to keep her warm and she loved it ☺️.

The swimming lessons we go to recommend that the babies can start lessons at birth so they must be confident babies are ok to go in a pool pretty much straight away. Any bugs and things will be killed by chlorinating the water x

A month. Just water in a little kiddy pool I got from walgreens. It's so hot here II don't feel right bringing him outside unless it's at night in the shade or in water. And then we also brought him to an outdoor pool though only his bum and feet touched the water and it was chlorinated. He loved it both times. I got him a nice white nb water/sun shirt and kept him shaded. My first didn't go in the water till he was 18 mo as we lived in Alaska and didn't go on vacation to Hawaii till then.

Both my girls were in a chlorinated indoor pool at 6 weeks old. Not for very long of course but I was keen to take them both swimming early :) DD1 is a proper little water baby now at 3 years old and i'm hoping DD2 will be aswell. She's in a spica cast for hip dysplasia at the moment so no more swimming for her until next year.
