Poor latch on one side

Is it weird for my daughter to have a great latch on my left breast, but not my right? I'm going to try to get in touch with a lactation consultant tomorrow, I'm just wondering if anybody else experienced this and what your solution was.

Its very very common and can be for lots of different reasons:
1)Muscle spasm on one side of the neck (often after forceps birth)
2)Stronger letdown on one side than the other making her pull back on the nipple
3)Direction of the nipple making latching from certain directions tricky
4)One nipple being inverted/flat or tethered

You can try football holds to replicate feeding on the other side, or actually feeding from pretty much any direction (breasts are 360 degrees of access!). Laid back feeding often allows for a deeper latch (and makes more directions accessible) and can combat fast letdown. I also know people who swore by cranial osteopaths and chiropractors, although for me it sorted itself out slowly over time.

My boy prefered my left. I just tried one positin at a time on the right until he got the hang of it and wasnt long befre he fed fab on both sides.

Have you tried using the football hold on the right. I found it was easier for my son and my self when I could direct him with me dominant hand.

I am seeing a consultant this afternoon. It took a couple days to get in, but I hope they can help.

My little guy needed a chiropractor to adjust him to get him on my left side.
