jake had the start of a tummy bug last night (no vomiting though!)
i woke up this morning to him crying and his cot was covered in poo :( i felt so bad.
i cleaned him up in the bath and i've just given him some toast but im not too sure how to go about feeding him today.

Poor Jake :( I'd stick to just giving bland, dry stuff like crackers and toast. Maybe even a banana? Try get lots of fluids into him as well. What about Dioralyte rehydrating sachets - I gave Charlie this last time he had diarreah and they helped. Hope he gets well soon :flow:

thanks. never changed so many nappies in one day!!
poor thing. :(
doesn't help that im wretching over him!! lol.
i might go and pick up some of those sachets. im trying to get him to drink but it's quite hard when he's just not interested. xx

I ended up putting the sachets into diluted Ribena for Charlie last time - it was the only way I could get it down him, but they really helped - it's horrible when they have that :( Hope they work for Jake :flow:

Will he take medicine froma syringe? When Abigail has dioralyte i have to syringe it in like medicine cos it tastes so horrid :hugs:

We use LF milk when Omar is poorly. He hates the taste of Dioralyte. natural plain yoghurt also helps. Avoid cow milk / toddlers milk & offer him lots of water. Hope he gets better soon hun xx

My LO, hubby, and I all just got over the stomach bug. We all had vomitting and diarrhea. Yogurt is the best thing to eat. It has enzymes and bacteria in it that is healthy for you. Also try to see if he will eat a banana. Stick to fluids and bland foods for now. Hope he feels better soon.

Dry food - rice is good as it sits well in the stomach.

Squash (I know it's a big no no) but the sugar is needed in his system to help with energy and allows the water molecules to go in to the blood stream easier. It doesn't wash through the system as quickly then.

i gave him toast and marmalade this morning.
then he farted (that's all it sounded like) then the room stank so i changed him and it was literally just undigested food.
do you think i should take him to the doctors?!

I think if he's had it for a few days then yes but they'll probably just tell you to keep him hydrated and to give him glucose based drinks. It's better for him to be checked.

Also, think of where he's been, what he's eaten that's been different to you, they may ask this too. xxx
