Hello Mama's =)

So first off, let me just say...I know none of you can see into my uterus nor do you know the future so I'm not expecting anyone to tell me whether or not my little one is going to make it through first tri

But I do have a question. Did any of you ladies experience low or slow to rise/early plateauing of your hcg levels?

My first three blood draws were:
13dpo 60hcg
15dpo 128hcg
22dpo (1 week later) 1104
but then
29dpo 2004!

on the day I had the final blood draw I also had an ultrasound, I was 6 weeks via LMP. We saw a healthy heartbeat at 103bpm and baby was measuring 6w2d! So when I got the call later telling me a few things as well as telling me my hcg numbers, I was crushed.

I know that once you see a heartbeat you should really go on the status of the ultrasound and not pay attention to the hcg....but they slowed their doubling SO soon (between weeks 5 and 6) it just has me a bit worried.

My next ultrasound isn't until 8 weeks, and I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that they didn't feel the need to move my next scan up to an earlier date. But just wondered if any of you had a great early ultrasound with everything just as it should be but had wonky hcg results.

Thanks for reading!!

From what my OB says, HCG fluctuates WILDLY from person to person. As long as the numbers climb, you should be fine. :)

In the UK they rarely monitor HCG levels but seeing a hb on screen is seen as very positive indeed. Try not to worry too much - good luck.

With all of my pregnancy the doctor checked my levels but didn't discuss them with me.

Thank you for you ladies who have responded so far. I'm trying my best to just trust what everyone is saying in that as long as they rise, that's good......only time will tell.

My doctor told me that once you see a heartbeat our chance of miscarriage was very slim.I had a scan at 5.1 weeks and saw just an empty sac and then a scan at 7.1 weeks and saw a lovely heart beat. I also thought as the hcg numbers got higher they slower down and didn't double but would continue to rise. Sending positive strength lovey. I understand how you are feeling. I bled all through first trimester with no obvious reason

Thank you for sharing that with me :flower: I've had no spotting or bleeding so I'm holding on to that as a positive sign although...well, we know...but yeah, only time will tell for certain

My doctor took hcg at 4.5 weeks and she said she didn't recommend another one because all hcg is very different I could just end up worrying over nothing.

A hb on ultrasound sounds very positive. I'm actually wondering though if they got your last hcg wrong because I thought it had to be over a certain amount to see a baby and a hb.

I'm almost 18 weeks, I found out I was pregnant at about 4 weeks, and I never once knew any of my hcg levels. My doctor of course checked them but didn't even think them important enough to share with me - I'm sure she would have pointed out if something seemed very wrong, which I'm sure your doctor would too  We saw a healthy heartbeat at 7 weeks and everything's been very smooth sailing with all results since indicating that we have a very healthy baby. I'd say just trust the scan and your doctor and don't fret over the hcg numbers, best wishes xx

They say anything over 1500-2000 to see a heartbeat, typically over 2000, which "technically" I was (it was 2004) but yeah, I was wondering the same thing because the heart beat was really good....two more days until I found out for sure!
