Alright ladies. Here is the thing. I have been confirmed to be pregnant by an hpt and the doc. However, because I had a miscarriage 3 months ago, I am super paranoid and I want to keep making sure that this is a sticky bean.

So I don't have any more hpts but I do have opks. I did one yesterday, it was negative. I did one today, and again, it was negative - in fact the line was slightly lighter :( Need some reassurance or just the cold hard truth. Can anyone relate?

Just to add. I tested positive at 10 dpo. And today is 12 dpo for me

I don't think using an opk as a hpt is recommended. It doesn't work for everyone I've heard.

It does NOT work for everyone! My OPK is very negative even though my HCG level is well above 70,000...

Thank you for the reassurance ladies.

Curligirl - that makes me feel a lot better!! :)

During my first pregnancy it did not work for me (Clear Blue OPK test said big fat ZERO, no smiley face). Unfortunately I lost that baby at 6w.

I'm pregnant again (6 weeks after the MC, no cycle in between, if you can believe that), and my pregnancy tests are all strong positives, and my OPKs are SUPER strong positives (darker than control line) and my Clear Blue OPK had a huge smiley face.

I hope that's a good sign for me, but it could just be variance in HCG levels or something between different women and different pregnancies. It might mean nothing at all for me. But it was fun to see.

Don't feel bad though, it's the HPT that are the important ones.

For fun, I took an opk around 7 or 8 weeks pregnant. My hcg was through the roof and I'd seen the baby on ultrasounds already. The opk was negative. Put your mind at ease and find another hpt!
