Positive labour stories with group b strep

Im sorry, Im not trying to scare ANYONE...

I just wouldnt want to see anyone get sick for thinking ah let me just let this be and see what happens....
step is one of the scarier infections out there....

so please forgive me writing so strongly about this.....

I appreciate that you are just sharing your concerns, obviously you have been unlucky enough to have a bad experience. The thing is, I don't know if is the same everywhere, but if I were to test positive for strep b the doctors would not offer me any treatment at all, only antibiotics in labour for the baby. So I think it's worth trying to actually get rid of the strep myself if possible, and if that doesn't work I would consider antibiotics in labour.

The antibiotics need to be administered 4hours prior to labour. I didnt have long enough any of the 3 times anyway.

i got antibiotics when diagnosed and then the Iv of it 2 hours into my labor...

i think when they know you have it they ask you come in as early as possible to administer it....

i personally dont know how anyone can get rid of strep on there own... it used to end up klling people before anti biotic' s and penicillin came about...

but i do wish you the very very best and hey maybe you will kick it on your own..if you do however i would love to hear the positive out come as anytime you can get away with not using anti biotics and use something natural im all for that... xx

I've read lots of stories of people who say they got rid of it with natural methods, of course it could be coincidence because it is known to come and go on it's own, it's thought that about 30% of the population have it. They don't give you antibiotics to treat it where I am, as long as the baby doesn't catch it they aren't worried about the mum having it. Of course that is talking about testing positive with the vaginal/rectal swab, if you test positive for it in your urine that's quite different, that is seen as an abnormal infection and they will treat you for it right away.
