Positive opk question?

I got a positive ovulation test today. Does that mean I'm ovulating today or will ovulate soon? Never got a positive before! Do you get a surge all the way through ovulation or just before ?
App says I should ovulate today.

You should ovulate within the next day or two after a positive xx

When u get the surge it means ure about to O in the next day or two. I think it can be between 12 and 48 hours. Good luck
