What are the chances that I am surging without actually ov'ing??

I say assume you're going to O. Unless you have issues with that, there's no reason to assume you won't. I was a little worried last month since I have PCOS and never ovulate... but I got my first positive opk (actually 3 days of them) and started my period about 15 days later. Don't worry. Good luck!

Aww sorry for your loss - but I heard a lot of woman are more fertile after the m/c fingers crossed for you hun...
