Positive things about being a single mummy.......

Great thread....i think we're such strong women!!

I dont agree kids need 2 parents....granted it takes 2 to make a child but like has already been said it doesnt take 2 to raise a child!!!
Me and my 2 brothers all grew up with just our mum and no dad on the scene and we've all done great. My younger brother has just got into the navy, my older brother runs his own successful plastering business has 2 gorgeous kids and his own house. And okay i dont have an ideal "my own house, great job, steady relationship" etc. But im expecting my first baby, im financially stable and as soon as hes here i'll be starting a part time degree.

Go team single mum!!!

I am proof that a child can turn out well without a dad around. Mine left before I was 2 and I only saw him maybe once or twice a year.
Now I have my amazing daughter, and our lives are so much better than if I had stayed with her abusive drug-addict father. Since Alice was born, I appreciate my Mom so much more and all she did for me.We do not need a man to help us raise our children, but we do need the support of friends and family.

As for positive things, I has no arguments about baby names or parenting decisions. And I get all the mornings smiles and cuddles. I think we are closer because I am the one person who is always there for her, day and night.
