Hi ladies,

I am 9 days over due today will still no sign of LO coming. I have been booked in for a possible induction in the morning but have to be assessed cos the baby wasnt engaged still at my last midwife appointment.

I was hoping some of you who have been induced could give me some ideas as to what to expect? I have been doing some reading but it would be nice to hear some first hand experiences.

Thanks x x x

Hiya delamere, im going to be keeping an eye on this thread as my possible induction is on wed and ill be 13 days over.

(how are you keeping anyway?).

My induction was pretty much straightforward in the actual process of it happening, I went in during the evening, had the pessary inserted at 7.30pm ... nothing for a few hours then about 11pm I had my first mild contraction. Called for the midwife to let her know, she gave me some paracetamol and told me to get some sleep. Managed to sleep all night through mild contractions, in the morning (about 7.30am) I was put on a monitor to assess how things were going and baby's heartrate had dropped so was sent up to delivery suite (was still on antenatal ward at this point) and put on the drip to speed things up. Contractions came faster and stronger by 9am I'd had enough to be honest :dohh:
Heartrate was better and so things continued to progress more slowly.
Everything was pretty much straightforward, ended up giving birth at 2am the next morning. :hugs:
