Post baby girdles???

Has any one every tried this? I have been reading about them and they seem to have a mixed review. After i had my son, my skin was really damaged. My belly stretched so much that it just became pretty much saggy. I know that's irreparable but if a belly binder or a girdle would help my stomach to decrease faster and hopefully become stronger etc then surely its worth a go?
I'm still really confused on how they work, how long you have to wear them, do you wear them at night, do you wear it immediately after birth etc? But instead of trolling through Google trying to find out, i thought i would try here for first hand experiences.

I was looking into this.. I have a couple of 'european' baby group friends and they all wear them..

I found a good one on jojo maman bebe site, that had some good reviews... and was more 'control' knicker style...

Oh really? Yea, i had heard that some will ride up and bend in the middle when you sit etc.
