I am posting this for a friend of mine who has to have a c section due to a health complication her unborn child has. So her question is.....when you have a vaginal birth you cannot wear tampons and have to wear pads for the bleeding...is the same for c section? I said yes( not to mention the bleeding is so much I can't imagine there is a tampon big enough????lmao)...but..just so I can pass it on from you ladies...I'm assuming the answer is no tampons right???

DEFINITELY no tampons, she also isn't supposed to swim/take a bath for a month. No intercourse either.

That being said, my second was a planned c-section and they were able to take their time and I barely bled after the surgery, it depends on the surgeon, but often they do a pretty good job suctioning out the excess blood so that the mother doesn't experience too many painful clots. I had to wear a pad for maybe a day and it was never very full.

Wonderful! ....ya her c section isn't until end of September so she has time still but I will pass all this on!!! Thanks so much!

NO tampons and also tell her she shouldn't have sex for at least 4-6 weeks. The risks can be infection and extensive bleeding.

As the other ladies have said no tampons due to infection, plus they won't hold the amount of bleeding she will have (I didn't expect vaginal bleeding after a section, I got a big ol' shock!). I'd tell her to stock up on maternity pads xx

No tampons. With the amount of bleeding, I can't imagine even WANTING to wear one!
