Post partum heamorrhage...

Hi I was wondering if anyone had suffered a severe bleed in labour and how that affected any subsequent deliveries?

I had a 2 hour labour and lost 3 pints (1500ml) and am now pregnant again and wondering how this may affect my labour this time. I have an appointment in a few weeks to discuss my labour which seems so early it has me worrying that they are worried iykwim

My mother had one with me and almost died. She went on to have two normal births with my siblings.

I also had a haemorrhage and lost 2 and a half litres during c section..This is my second pregnancy and hoping I can have a normal birth! X

Hello.i realise this thread is a week and a bit old but just thought id add on.i had a pph of 2 litres after dd.i actually had a placenta accreta so went on to have a csection with my second.i still bled a fair bit,lost a lot of blood vaginally for months afterwards and had some large clots inside my uterus.i guess it depends not he reason for your previous hamerrage

Hi all thanks for replies, I've not been here for a while as I'm still getting over ms!
I don't know the reason for my bleed, I have put it down to the fact that they broke my waters as my Labour took off like a rocket after that. Hopefully I will get some answers at my all appointment in December.

I had a PPH with DS1; 1.5l following induction
DS2 spontaneous labour at 39wks, quick just a 3hrs established labour, no bleed and actually stopped post partum blood in less than 2wk and it was light

I had a hemorrhage about 10 days post-partum, but only with one of my pregnancies. My mom had a severe hemorrhage (took a pint or 2 in transfusion to keep her alive) within a few hours of having her 3rd, but went on to have a 4th with no hemorrhage issues.

I had a bad hemorrhage with my 2nd right after I delivered her, but not with my first. I just needed to stay in the hospital a couple days and take meds to help it. My daughter was totally fine and so was I.
