I know there are thread about which wraps are the best etc etc...but my thought is...whats wrong wih just a normal, bog standard corset??

I have some really pretty ones I used o wear in the 'ahem' bedroom...couldn't I use one of these instead of a belly bandit? (which I cant afford)??

Or,.....how about getting a really long piece of cloth and wrapping self up traditionally...so not paying out for overpriced westernised versions of traditional wraps??

Any thoughts / experiences on this???

i bought one from babies r us and it was their brand it was $24 Canadian - im going to give that a shot!

I've only gotten belly bands so far... as they are cheap- and I have two, so I could use them both if needed... not sure I'd be comfry wearing something more tight/constraining ya know???

I would think a wrap would be fine though hun... not certain about the corset- doesn't sound very comfortable. I think the point of the ones made for post- baby are they are shorter, and provide support but don't limit movement if that makes any sense? Might just be my assumption though ;)

Hmmm that does make sense....pft i dont know what to do! I know it sounds vain but i really dont want a big squashy baggy belly for the rest of my life

Id happily squeeze myself into full body wrapping if i knew it would work!

You can look into tummy control panties. They are high waisted (can buy them so that they reach bottom of your rib cage) and have a girddle panel in the front. Smiliar to "spanx"

I've seen them for a low cost at dept. stores. Macy's might have them too.

The problem with a regular corst is that the bones that make it tight can cause some odd swelling and leave you "bumpy" looking instead of smooth.

I was going to suggest the high tummy control/smoother panties or Spanx myself if you don't want to buy one of the binding belts. Traditional binding would likely work just as well but not sure where you would buy the materials for it, plus the only time I've seen soemone get into it they were being wrapped by their doula.. so maybe it's a two woman operation? I dunno. I kinda am tempted to do something this time around but honestly not sure I could do anything until the c-section scar is fairly healed at which point I will be back to exercising and working my butt off to get off all the extra 'can't blame the babies' weight.
