Hello! I feel like a should know the answer as a third time mum, but I can't remember how I dealt with this with the boys!

My DD is doing fantasticly well with potty training and is very reliable 99% of the time as long as she doesn't have any bottoms on. As soon as she has underwear on it's a different story. At the moment I've just been saying "oh dear, wee wee's go in the potty" cleaning her up and leaving it at that. Any tips please?

What does she do when she has an accident in her underwear? Does she know she's wet? Is it different to if she does a wee in a pull-up?

Yes she knows she's wet, she grabs herself and says "mummy! Wet" or "potty!"

In a nappy/pull up she tells me that she's wet too, but she doesn't seem as alarmed by it, iykwim

May sound horrible but her feeling the wet pants is a good thing, it shows them it's uncomfortable and to pee in the potty instead. Just let her run in pants and she will get it soon enough. I just bought a pack of cheap pants that I binned once my daughter was fully potty trained. Meant we had a load to change in to and she was trained day and night within a week x

I agree with pp. Let her be in the wet pants.
I would actually make ds change his own pants and clean it up himself.......
He soon started remembering :haha:

It sounds like she's on the right track. I would just continue as you are.

How long have you been potty training for? With my boys we just went with nothing on their bottom half for the first week and didn't try underwear until they were pretty consistent with using the potty and that always seemed to work

I would just keep at it and keep her underpants on rather than going bottomless. We never did the whole running around the house with nothing on thing. She went right in pants and trousers from day 1 and we just changed them when we got wet. She really didn't like wetting herself and would prefer to use the potty, so just pointing out to let us know when she needed to go so we could get her there more quickly combined with just not liking wetting herself was enough. I would say it took about a week until she was pretty reliable, but there were still some accidents occasionally. I would just keep doing what you're doing.

They're right. It's a good thing! She's peeing and wetting her underwear, but she knows she's wet and that it's uncomfortable. This will pass - hopefully soon. My daughter did this for quite a while, unfortunately. I had to put her in pull-ups to leave the house so she wouldn't pee in my car or in stores!
