I am just looking for some advice from any ladies who have either bought the Bugaboo Cameleon or the Silver Cross Surf.

Hubby & I had Decided on getting the Bugaboo, however yesterday when we went out shopping to order bubs furniture, he saw the silver cross surf and after a shot of both he loved the silver cross! I am undecided as for months its been the bugaboo we have decided on so now am confuzzled  about which pram would be the better one to go for!!!

Any advice/recommendations would be gratefully recieved lol, especially from anyone who actually has or has ordered either pram.

Thanks so much :flower:

xx

We have got the Bugaboo Cameleon, all in black for Leni.

It's just fantastic, i can't fault it .. only downside is the price really - we've nearly spent a grand that was for the pram, and a *couple* of accessories

It's got a height adjustable handle, great suspension, oversized hood for protection and privacy, carrycot that can be used for overnight sleeping, so easy to fold/unfold/ 0-4 years, super stylish, 3 different seat positions, good for their back, huge underseat basket easy to access in carrycot/seat mode, delightful to push ... i could go on and on!! xxx

Thanks :)
Thats all the reasons I loved the bugaboo aswell :-) I think the only downside we had with it was folding it, it was quite difficult and I'm sure I would get used to it but its def not as easy as some others!
Its so difficult to decide as it had been the bugaboo we had always been decided on, But hubby now loves the silvercross more!

My DF liked the Surf, but it just doesn't have the same appeal as the Bugaboo i don't think?!

Unfolding/folding is tricky at first, but the next day i was able to unfold it in 11 seconds, and fold in down again in 12 seconds :smug:

Sad to time it .. much? xxx

I know what you mean, the bugaboo just has something about it it looks lovely :)

I think once we had it home we would both get the hang of folding it much better than we were doing in the shop, when everyones looking lol.

What colours did you go for, for your bugaboo?

xx

When DF and I went to the shop we both got it wrong over and over again, your under pressure so no wonder why!

Once you get it home and are able to play with it in the comfort of your own home, you get the hang of it in no time.

The carrycot is absolutely superb for a newborn, even better quality that our moses basket - we've even decided to use the carrycot instead of a moses basket it's that good!

We've got it all in black, black footmuff, and maxi cosi carseat - but that's in blue. Black is just practical as i'm always spilling stuff and generally making a mess, and i am sure LO will too!

When is your buggy deciding deadline?! xx

If you like them both equally then maybe just got for the cheapest? I haven't looked at either of these yet so am completely impartial/don;t knwow any of the features etc.
I have my scan tomorrow though and then its buggy shopping time!!!
It's good to know what everyone else is buying x

I'm the same with the cameleon and the silvercross 3d, except we got a 3d on ebay and then found out my parents are prepared to buy us the the cameleon so not sure what to do as I love both but would prefer the cameleon but dont want to be seen to be greedy :S

Its the all black bugaboo we were looking at aswell its lovely :) I am not sure when our deadline is ideally I want to order it ASAP but I could prob wait till the start of August if needed!

for Sammiwry: I have the 3D and am really disappointed. My mum bought it for me and it's a nightmare on public transport and getting around shops. The breaks appear to have a problem as mine keeps on popping off when I put it on (which is a safety concern) and the black denim version that we have has faded to a horrid pinky/red colour in patches. It's also really heavy and you need both hands to steer at all times.

If it was me I would avoid like the plague...

you'll never get a better pushchair then bugaboo cameleon.

I had the Cameleon with my 4th child and my 3rd stood on the buggaboard as he called it. Very appropriate. As far as buggies go it was superb, very light and easy to transport and incredibly strong. What let it down was before my baby was 2 his head was touching the canopy and eventually we had to get something else.
However I am considering another one, because I have never had a buggy as easy to use and push, even with my heavy weight children in it. The only pushchairs that have come close have been the Jane's I had with my previous children.
To be fair the Bugaboo did 9 miles a day min every school day (3 x 3 mile trips) and then at the weekend was hauled round either the Derbyshire Peak district, or the shingle beach where my sister lives near Bristol. I have never had a buggy that could cope with that sort of terrain and still be lightweight and rear facing. I sold it on for a good price despite its heavy use. It still looked as good as new.
However I do like the Surf, my friend has one for her new baby and it is lovely to push. It does seem slightly harder to push and turn than the Bugaboo, she herself admits this as she had a Frog with her last baby but it certainly is a very sturdy and easy to use buggy. I am waiting to see how hers goes tbh because she too drags it offroad a fair amount and I want to see how it lasts lol.
My other option is the Jane slalom reverse which I also adore but it isn't as easy to put up and down as the Surf and Cameleon.
Too much choice, though dh has said that if they were all the same price which would I go for. Easy answer, the Cameleon.
Sadly I will also admit to owning over 60 prams and pushchairs with my 4 children over the years, I am never satisfied though I kept the Cameleon longer than any other bugg I have had.
