Pre-eclampsia?

MilosMummy it looks from your signature that your lo arrived safely into the world a couple of weeks ok? I hope everything was ok.

Just want to also take the opportunity to let anyone know who's reading this that there is not always all the signs. I had a condition called HELLP which is virtually unknown to most people but it's connected to pre-eclampsia. I had high bp but no swelling, protein in urine or disturbed vision. I had pain in my upper right abdomen which is typical of HELLP. Both conditions are serious and early diagnosis is important. I don't want to scare people but I'd rather harp on and help someone get the medical attention they need.

Re the Brewers Diet - this is over half a century old and opinions are very divided (it claims to prevent and cure a condition that modern day medical researchers don't understand very well yet) so I would advise anyone considering it to fully research it first and discuss with the doctor.

Indeed, little Alex arrived the day before my due date, after 23 hrs of labor! I went for my routine biophysical ultrasound and stress test, just two days before my due date. Again my amniotic fluid was sitting borderline at 5 and my stress test was a failed test (again). So doctor decided it was time to stop waiting around and sent me across the street to the hospital directly after my appointment to start an induction. My bp was fine all during labor and post labor. No complications aside from the baby having a little trouble breathing at first. But all is well  born 8lb 6oz :cloud9:

Congratulations MilosMummy! Glad it went ok in the end even if you had a few bumps in the road

:)
