predicting labour

is there really any way to predict when u will go into labour? like engaging or something

cos my mam has to fly over from turkey for the birth and i dont want to pop early and for her to miss it, but at same time, dont want her to come early then for me to go overdue and her miss it anyway

any suggestions?
