Hello ladies, I spoke to the midwife today who told me that because I have a previous emergency csection my pregnancy is high risk, what does a high risk pregnancy due to a previous csection involve? Should I be worried? I had a VERY traumatic birth experience with my daughter so i'm not even sure if I want a vbac yet, thanks :flower:

Hi,
I saw the consultant at hospital once or twice. This was to talk about method of delivery. She told me that if I was favourable she would induce me with a balloon if I went over by 12 days. If not favourable then another section. I didn't know what balloon induction was - it is where they put a 10ml un-inflated balloon by your cervix and inflate it to try to open the cervix. I was told that if I went into labour I would need to have continuos monitoring.
I didn't get any extra scans or anything really.
I still saw my midwife as normal at my doctors.
I ended up 12 days late with a planned section. I really was not looking forward to another section - but it really was much better and the recovery was better compared to my first emergency one. I even bought an old persons chair off eBay as I found it so hard the first time getting up and down off our low settee.
Best of luck with everything x

Providing you go for a VBAC and have a low risk pregnancy it means you will more than likely see the consultant at 20 weeks and then probably at around 36 weeks and then again if you go overdue. If you are attempting a VBAC and go overdue they tend to only want you to get to 41 weeks and then you have to talk through your options. Induction will depend on your consultant as some are fine with it and others are not.
