I'm wondering about your experiences with pregnancy after a miscarriage. I had my d&c 6 weeks ago. I had a week long period that began last week. It was heavy, but normal. I average 4 days, and this one was 8. I'm just relieved we can start trying again.

I realize people often have a hard time conceiving after, but I'm hoping to hear about those who were successful right after -- and what your process was like. Did you have a heavy period? Were you able to predict accurately when you were ovulating?

I just need some hope right now, I think... <3

Hi sunshine2014.
I can definitely offer some hope here. It took us 2 years to conceive the first time and my cycles were all over the place! Between 23-64 days!

After my first miscarriage (at 5-6 weeks) we waited one cycle then got pregnant again 2 cycles later!

Unfortunately this was also a miscarriage (testing showed a random genetic problem) good news is although we chose to wait 3 cycles before trying we then got pregnant on first cycle of TTC!!!

My cycles became regular 29-30 day and could even feel ovulation! I then felt implantation also!

So we went from having an IVF appt booked and 2 years TTC to being able to conceive on first month trying!
Don't lose hope! Good luck! X

Hello sunshine, I can also add some hope. After my mc we waited 1 cycle as per my OB's advice. We conceived on cycle no 3 and we are now 33 wks pregnant.
Gud luck

Thanks ladies. I guess we will see what happens. I'm just concerned because my first period after d&c was so long,...but I'm hoping I'll still ovulate on time.

hi sunshine. my last mc was in march.i had medical management, not d&c and my first period after was increadible long and heavy.i would have few days spotting think its the end and then suddenly very heavy flow started. then I noticed that may june july cycles were slightly longer (only by couple of days) and I ovulated a bit later but my periods were ok.i got pregnant 3. cycle trying. I got myself cb fertility monitor and im glad I did. I used it alongside cheap opks. dont give up girl. it will happen. x

Hi Sunshine. :hi: I can also offer some hope! I had a mmc at 8.5 weeks back in March and had a d&c. I took 3-4 cycles (time I needed) to heal both emotionally and physically. Then DH and I began ttc again. We were successful on cycle #2 and have seen bean and hb at 7 week scan and my next scan is on friday and hopefully will still see hb then. To pinpoint OV and the best time to BD, I used BBT charting and CM checking. I also had one day of brownish IM spotting around 9 dpo. But my point is that after a d&c you can definitely get pregnant and can even do so pretty quickly! Good luck and lots of baby :dust: to you! :flower:

Update! Just saw hb again today at 8+6! :D So there is hope and hang onto it! You will get there! :hugs:

Hi sunshine! I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage in late December. It took a while for me to have a period but I finally did in February. It was much longer and heavier than my normal ones prior to the miscarriage probably 7-9 days long. I tracked my ovulation with ovulation predictor kits and watching for symptoms. We got pregnant that cycle and I'm 29 weeks today! I wish you the best of luck and don't give up hope. Also take all the time you need to heal. I know the best thing that helped me was planning on trying again.
