Hello everyone.
I was just wondering if anyone has fallen pregnant straight after a miscarriage without having a period first. Are you at a higher risk of miscarrying again if you do not have your period first?

Ive heard and my mw tols me that there is no increased risk, i fell pregnant after a mc and then had a mmc which my mw says is not at all related, ive fallen oregnant right off that cycle again and waiting for a scan in 9 days but im feeling optimistic.

@ Celine, I want to start ttc but my periods cms to take so long. I'm now 4 weeks post mc and my gynea told me to wait one cycle b4 ttc

I got this BFP a month after mc, no AF in between. I'm now 16w+2 and all looks great. Both my GP and midwife told me it didn't increase my risk, your body wouldn't get pregnant if it wasn't ready.

Good luck!

Hey I am 9weeks, had mmc in july. I never took a period. Midwife didn't mention anything at booking appointment so I feel all is good. Had my first scan 2 weeks ago. I haven't had a period in two years. We spend time I bedroom every 3/4 days. Also the two times I got pregnant I was "taking a break". Hope this helps you in some way

I had a miscarriage in July, had one period, got pregnant in August, miscarried in September/October, and got pregnant straight away after that. I'm currently showing signs of a threatened miscarriage but my chances are increased due to the fact that I have had 8 prior miscarriages and am considered high risk thru my first trimester. For most other women, I think the chances are the same as if you had waited. The common thought is most doctors want you to wait at least one cycle after in order for the lining of your uterus to go back to normal and to make it easier to date your pregnancy.

We tried once...im almost 3 wks past miscarriage and havent had my AF yet..hopefully we all get wat we want good luck..

Hi Dairymomma, iam deeply sorry for your losses. The wait is really frustrating me, iam almost 5 weeks post mc and still AF is not showing.

It's usually taken me 2-3 weeks post miscarriage for my hCG to drop to 0 and it's usually 3-4 weeks after that that I get my period the first time. So I've had to wait anywhere from 5-8 weeks post-miscarriage to get my first AF. This time, however, I got a negative hpt just 9 days post-miscarriage and opks put ov at 2 weeks after that. Crazy but an ultrasound today confirmed I'm 6+1 and bubs has a hb. I do want to add too though that this is the first time I know I've ovulated after a miscarriage. With all my others, I had no signs of ovulation-no cm, no cramping, no nothing and I got AF like normal.

But one last thing to give you hope-there's evidence that your fertility jumps up for up to 6 months after a miscarriage because everything is shiny and 'cleaned out' inside so your chances of getting pg again are slightly higher right now. Good luck and I hope you get your sticky BFP sooner rather than later!

I am in my 3rd week post D&C, I was cleared to start trying again after 2 weeks and the bleeding had stopped...so that's what I did, I had some ewcm so im thinking I may have ovulated, we've been dtd every other day since the 2 week post op mark... Fngers crossed :)

Exactly this. I got pregnant straight away after a natural miscarriage at 8 weeks and my rainbow is 23 months today.

Hi Steph, I really wanted to try asap however, a lot of people are scaring me. I was told it will increase my chances of miscarring again as my lining is not strong enough because I had a d&c.
