Feel so silly right now!

This morning it is -24 degrees Celsius outside (we live in Finnish Lapland, this is not unusual) and DS and I needed to take our dog for a quick walk. So we get all our gear on, pop DS in his sledge and take the dog for a 10 minute jaunt up the road.

Only to get back to find I've forgotten both my key and my phone in the locked house...

The only option is to put DS in the pushchair and walk quickly to DH's family hotel 15 minutes away hoping DH is there and not too busy. I don't think I've ever walked it so quick even with bad spd.

DS was crying that his hands and feet were cold but luckily we avoided any frost nip or frost bite and DH was able to drive us home. Feel like a terrible mummy that DS got so cold...

Oh what a shame. Totally happens though, my brain has turned to mush this time round.

Oh bless you. It definitely happens. My brain is fried. It's actually getting ridiculous! Big hugs :hugs: xx

Oh I am definitely suffering from baby brain. Forgetting the most basic words, starting something and then completely forgetting and walking away. Glad you had somewhere close by to go to get a ride though.

I hear ya. I almost locked my keys in my car when it's ten degrees outside except I forgot to lock the back door so it worked out just fine. It sucks to be the person that always has it together and now... I forgot to drop Christmas presents off to my mother, scheduled a girls dinner date on the same night we have a double date with my husbands friends, I have clothes to be returned and I've called my doctors office twice to find out my next appointment. My husband has started giving me my vitamins because he doesn't trust me to remember. it's going to be a long fifteen weeks. there's a few more from just this week. but, dang if I know what they are.

So glad it's not just me that went through this. My brain seems to have bounced back in the last week or so. I did mention to my midwife at my last appointment though that it served me right for having been so judgemental in the past and that I used to wonder how some people ever progressed from Velcro shoes to shoe laces..... And that I now felt like I was part of that group. She just laughed and told me it's only going to get worse. Thankfully though I feel I've improved.
