i bought a buddha bellies pregnancy dvd quite a few weeks ago, just not finding the time to start

have any other ladies started yoga?

I actually just attend my first Yoga Bellies class last night which is a Yoga class for pregnant ladies.

I'm slightly unsure about it - have never tried Yoga before though I am a dance teacher. I've been off dancing for summer holidays so my fitness and flexibility has gone way down anyway...add in a baby growing in my tummy and I came away feeling depressed about how much I used to be able to do and how all my muscles are sore and tight!

I did enjoy the relaxation aspect and she talked alot about breathing techniques for relaxation .

I was doing yoga prior to being pregnant. Then my first trimester I was so sick I wasn't able to go to class. I started back up with a prenatal class and loved it as soon as I started feeling better. But then I was diagnosed with placenta previa and the doctor didn't want me doing anything strenuous. I don't want to pay for class that is gentle but I NEED do do something. I love yoga and loved my prenatal class but I have a hard time doing any of it on my own. I need the class atmosphere.

I have been going to a prenatal class for the past few weeks. It's ok, but I miss the hot power yoga I was doing before I got pregnant! The prenatal class is relaxing and it's nice to meet other people. That said, I can't wait to go back to my other class, which was a great workout and felt like you'd had a massage after you were done. I don't think I like yoga enough to be motivated to do a DVD at home all by myself.

I've recently started taking prenatal yoga. I don't like it quite as much as the more strenuous yoga I was taking pre-pregnancy, but it's better than nothing. Also, it's a great place to meet other preggos!

I wouldn't have the discipline to do yoga at home. I'm terrible about exercising at home. I need to get away from all the distractions in order to stay motivated.

I do Tara lees pregnancy yoga DVD, it's a bit slow but does give me a good stretch out. I tend to do it after a run to make it more of a workout! I think I'd enjoy a pregnant yoga class but there's none near me.

I've just signed up to a lazy daisy birthing class which even though isn't yoga will hopefully help with prepare for my birth. Has anyone done a lazy daisy course ?

I used to do yoga prior to pregnancy and then stopped for first tri and picked up again at 12 weeks. It has kept my body limber and I've noticed that on the days I do yoga, my SPD is manageable (even though the 1 hour I'm doing almost feels like hell for some of the stretches). Planning on continuing pregnancy yoga until the end if possible.
