SO, apparently LH under 40 is premature ovarian aging... which gives me more hope. They are doing new studies using HGH to slow the aging process. Anyone done this? They supplement with hgh for 6-8 weeks before ivf to help slow the aging process in early development of the eggs that will be harvested for IVF...

I'm taking:
pqq
dhea
paba
coq10
D3
EPO and Vitex
prenatal
3mg of melatonin
and two probiotics

Hello again, Hellodarling! I'm glad you've been given more hope...that positivity is super important. I haven't used HGH, but the clinic I will be moving on to if tomorrow's IUI doesn't work told me that's exactly what they would do for me if I were to do IVF with my eggs; they'd give me HGH the cycle before the IVF cycle to prime things & then use it again with other meds during the actual IVF cycle. I was intrigued and hadn't heard of that protocol before. It must be pretty cutting edge. Of course, even with that they gave me about a 5% chance of success, so I think we will be using donor eggs if we have go the IVF route as we will be spending out of pocket and need better odds than 5%. (Not sure if I've told you before, but my AMH was .149 & most recent FSH was 9, though my highest result about a year ago was 28.)

wow! you went from 28 down to 9? What were you doing?

I don't know what my amh is. I haven't had that test done yet.

I love that they are using HGh. I'm super curious about the dosage and how often it's taken. I would absolutely try it. I really hope this IUI works this time for you... but i'm doubly glad that your backup has some new developments in terms of treatments that might offer a better outcome. Babydust!!!

Unfortunately, many drs think that since FSH fluctuates widely, the only thing that matters is the highest number you ever get. But some naturopaths and acupuncturists believe you can actually bring the number down, resulting in improved fertility. From my experience, most western drs don't believe that, however. I don't know what to believe!! Over the same time frame that my FSH improved, my AMH got worse (much worse, actually), so my body is sending mixed messages for sure. I have taken many supplements (DHEA, CoQ10, Vit e, B complex, zinc, red rasp leaf tea, some royal jelly) & go to acupuncture weekly.

I can't recall if you are heading quickly towards an IVF cycle or some other type of assistance?

We just found a loophole in our insurance so we may head that way if we qualify. Its teetering on my husbands sperm so we will have an analysis done when he gets home. If it's him then IVF is covered...woopieeee. If not, then no IVF... My FSH has been in the low 30's both times we took it. My LH has been roughly 25 both times we took it. So, my LH is definitely working overtime.

I remember talking to you about acupuncture. I haven't done it yet but would like to.

Well, according to my acupuncturist, it's good that your LH and FSH are comparable. They like to see that. My western dr has never said anything to me about that, so I don't know their take on it.

I love my acupuncturist! Every week I get a mini therapy session, she want to know about everything. I always fall asleep on the table, so I get a nap in, too. I don't honestly know if it has helped me medically, but I know it helps with my stress level. She calls me a "hard case." Since it's covered by my insurance, I will keep going. I'm very thankful that it is.

I was going to say, lol, if you're falling asleep then you're definitely reaping the benefits of relaxation and stress management! That's awesome! Western medicine is weird that way, it's such a disconnect from the mind/body/soul approach.
