Preseed question

Hey everyone,

DH and I started using Preseed last month to help us TTC. In the instructions it says to replace cap after each use and not to leave the tube uncapped between uses. I'm always really careful to put the cap back on immediately but the other night DH accidentally left it off for about 10-15 minutes. Does anyone know why it's so important to keep the cap on?? Now I'm worried that maybe I need to buy a new tube

I couldn't tell you why it is important for any scientific reason. But the instructions say it shouldn't be in the applicator for more than 30 minutes and I can't imagine it would make a difference between being uncapped or in the applicator... so I would say for 10-15 minutes you're probably ok. Gl!

Interesting, I don't have an answer for that one BUT I would say you're probably okay with 15 minutes! They probably are stressing it being left open for a long period of time....maybe it could change the consistency being left open for days. Make a goal to finish that tube...which means tons of BD ....or just follow your gut!

Hi Jess,

I would have to guess that they recommend keeping the cap on to prevent any bacteira from getting inside. Also, since it is not your typical lubricant, it may dry up when exposed to air for too long. I highly doubt you need to replace your tube from that one incident. Good luck to you!!

Thanks for all your replies! That makes sense about either bacteria or it drying up. I really want a so I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
