Hi ladies, i posted over on the name forum to see what was thought of the name Ashlynn :flower: I reeeeaaally like it and so does OH BUT ..... he prefers Elle short for Ellen after a family member. Im not keen on Ellen but i do love Elle id like spelt Ellie......now im so torn i love the fact Ellie is short and sweet but i also love the Fact Ashlynn isnt that common

Im relieved we have managed to narrow it down to only a couple of names cause theres obviously soooooooo many

I know we will prob know 100% once shes born but just wanted to know what the general consensus is between these 2 names :help:

Hmmmm I like them both, maybe Ellie slightly more. I would have Ellie myself but with the surname kelly it's maybe not a good idea :haha:

i like ellie but then said as ellie (el-lee) as well, not elle (el), although that's fine then as a nickname

I prefer Ashlynn, but Ellie is nice as well.
Is there any way you can use both of them?
As is Ashlynn Ellie lastname, or Ellie Ashlynn lastname?

Personally I like the name Ashlynn, but I like unusual names.

Hence my little girl's gonna be called Summer-Brooke. :pink:

thanks for your opinions i cant believe how much trying to decide on a name plays in your mind! it just keeps coming back

Maybe wait until you meet her.... you'll be able to pick it then because one will just feel right!

I voted for Ashlynn. Both names are nice but I prefer that one :flower:

i like both names but i voted for Ashlynn as i think it is very very pretty and just not as common as Ellie which i think has been used a lot over the last few years xxxx

I wouldn't say Ellie, even though i LOVE the name every Ellie i know got called smelly Ellie!

I didnt think of that at all!!:wacko:

hmmmmm Kids can pick on names i always got called Alana Bannana :dohh:
which isnt that harsh but i still didnt like it

xx

Ashlynn. It's more unusual and she is likely to be the only Ashlynn in her class at school, where-as if you go with Ellie, they may be an Ellie 1 and an Ellie 2. Also Ellie rhymes with more things that kids could use to be mean to her with.

Haha I like Alana Banana! V cute lol!

Children will make fun of any name should they want to, just unfortunate that Ellie is such an easy target!

I voted Ashlyn i think it is very pretty and not as well used as Ellie xx

It doesn't matter what you name your kid, other kids will find a way to pick on her. I can just as easily see kids calling Ashlynn "Ass lint" as Ellie "Smelly Ellie", etc. Learning how to deal with getting picked on is part of growing up.
