Hi all,
Was just wondering, I had a previous emcs with my son who is now 6, I'm pregnant with no2 and was wondering will I have a choice between vbac and c section or do I HAVE to have a vbac? Can't really find an answer on google :p thanks x x x

They will recommend a vbac (unless there's a medical reason) but ultimately it's your choice how you birth your next child.

I've been told I will also have the choice, but they will push for vbac. x

I'm having an elcs after a emcs in 2011 .... Was told it was my choiceand they didnt try to pressure me or make me change my mind.

Your baby your choice is what we were told

It's your choice.
They may advise a certain way.
I really wanted a VBAC, but was advised to have an ELCS and listening to their advice and weighing up each pro and cons and safety for hiccups arrival i decided to go with their advice and have the ELCS.
Ultimatly though it is your decision. :)

I am having an elective section this time after an emcs last April.
So far I have not had any issues having to convince midwives, docs etc.

I also expected to be persuaded to try a VBAC but I was given the choice. I cose to try a VBAC but it was only around 35 weeks, the midwife told me about the restrictions involved ie no birthing pool, continual monitoring and lying in bed from when they break my waters through to birth. Due to severe back pain which I have had since 19 years old, I knew I would never be able to do that - I was relying in being able to walk, rock and use birth pool. Her answer was to have an epidural from early on. I wanted to change my mind then and there bt she didn't support me in contacting consultant until I was past my due date.
Eventually I saw consultant at 41 weeks and she advised csection as dd wasn't coming anytime soon & they couldn't induce me due to danger of abruption.

This time I will automatically get a section and am very happy with this.
