Previous Section Dressing

I always thought that my experience with my post op dressing was normal but a few people have told me otherwise and im wondering if this affected how long it took me to be able to stand straight/walk properly.

I had my daughter at 20 to 5 on sunday 16th oct 2011, on monday at 10am i was told to get up and have a shower, let the water run on the dressing and to take it off, whereas a few other people have told me their midwife took their dressing off on day 5.

Im from the UK, so uk mummies would be best.

Mine was very similar to yours. I wasn't allowed to leave the hospital without taking the dressings off and so that was 2 days pp. All but one of my stitches had already dissolved (the last one I am still having problems with 3 weeks later - but nothing to do with the dressing). Sounds pretty normal to me. X

My dressing was taken off after a bath 24 hours later with both my sections.

My dressing was removed 2 days pp while still at hospital by a midwife. I then had my stitches removed 5 days pp at home by a community midwife (I had non-dissolvable outer stitches).
