Hi

Just about run out of powder so after babys 6 wk check up today went into town (1st time out on own with her and buggy) and found that savers have put the price of the aptamil up to almost £9 so ended up getting some at boots for £8.49 (superdrug, waitrose all same price) thinking that at least i would get the points from boots.

Just though i would let people know in case anyone was making a special trip to savers to stock up...

you dont get points for formula hun :flower:

Thats mad! It was so much cheaper a couple of weeks ago! Remember though you don't usually get points on formula- another goverment thing to put people off of formula :dohh:

tut tut the points on the money i spend buying the formula :) hehe

Yes i things its crappy i am going to see if any of my friends with costco cards can check the price of it there for me and see if its any cheaper.

Is that truly the reason? That is completely and totally outrageous.

Yep the law states:

Restrictions on promotion of infant formula
23.—(1) No person shall at any place where any infant formula is sold by retail—

(a) advertise any infant formula; .
(b) make any special display of an infant formula designed to promote sales; .
(c) give away— .
(i) any infant formula as a free sample, or .
(ii) any coupon which may be used to purchase an infant formula at a discount; .
(d) promote the sale of an infant formula by means of premiums, special sales, loss-leaders or tie-in sales; or .
(e) undertake any other promotional activity to induce the sale of an infant formula.

Which means that they can not give you loyalty points as they are a 'reward' for you buying formula.

The cheapest I've seen it is Asda - £8.47. Not worth a special trip for 2p, but if you're going anyway it's worth buying there.

Their baby event is still on til the 8th, and that alone is worth a special journey!

Stupid Savers!!

I got 7 tubs Aptamil First the last time I was there-£7.75 and an Aptamil hungry baby for £7. Was planning going again this weekend!! Oh well, at least I saved some pennies anyway!:flower:
