It's got to the point where I'm fed up getting :bfp along wth :witch: everymonth!! I was reffered to a gyne after my 3rd early MC/chemical who told me I wasn't entitled to tests on the nhs as I have children!

He wouldn't even discuss tests with me, just told me to go away and keep trying, and he'd expect me to be pregnant in t he next 6 months... what a great help eh!?

So I'm on my 5th chemical now, since Aug 08 and feel its time to start looking for a problem, only I wouldn't know where to start... as mentioned I've got 3 kids, all with a problem free pregnancy, my LP seems normal enough at 16 days.... at first i thought maybe it was extremely bad luck, but im starting to find that more and more hard to belive! lol

I should consider male factor too, is it possible it could be a male factor even tho we seem to be conceiving ok? My 3 children aren't his, and he doesn't have any of his own. His previous GF once fell pregnant and she too MC very early on.

I dunno if its even slightly related but my OV tests seem to pretty much have a line on them all month and dont get a huge amount darker at my 'peak'

And at the start of 2008 I was tested for high prolactin as my periods vanished for months and I started lactating. Apparently it came b ack as 'normal', my periods returned, but I still lactate.

Any ideas, suggestions would be welcome, I'd also be quite keen to get an idea of prices of private fertility tests also!

Thanks ladies.

Hi hun. Hope you're ok.

I've posted on private tests before. I found a clinic in Southampton who were charging £650 for his and hers tests. A girl who replied to by thread also said there's one in Poundbury in Dorset who she really recommended.
Not sure how far away from you these are or if there is somewhere closer to you. How far away is Bristol cos I'm sure I've read of clinic there.

I'll find the details of the 2 clinics and pm you.

Are you def sure this is not a real :bfp: again.

Thanks a lot hun... I dont really mind traveling a bit, whats a few miles when you're speding that sort of money! lol.. I've travel to australia if it meant getting a baby!
I'm certain the :bfp: has gone, I can feel :witch: brewing as we speak! :(

Sorry for your losses :(

It could be male factor so an advanced sperm test would be well worth testing. Males can have chromosome problems with sperm and while they can successfully fertilise an egg, if the wrong sperm gets to it then it is doomed.

*If* this is the problem (and unfortunatley it may just be very bad luck) the only real option is IVF either with PGD or perhaps just sorting the ill sperm from the rest, but ot my knowledge they can't do this without cell testing on the embies.

Good luck :hugs:

Thanks FJL, Thats along the lines of what I was thinking. We're hoping that as our children aren't biologially his that he'll be entitled to the tests on the NHS. So we're going to go down that route first. It seems a bit silly wasting precious money on paying for female tests, that could go on IVF if needed without getting OH tested for free first.

Ive found this place on the web. Might be an idea getting some info from them, if thats an option...

Good luck, hun! :)

OH should be entitled to nhs tests. My dh had his this week and we certainly didn't have to push for them. If might be worth trying a different doctor at your surgery. I know there are def ones at mine who are more sympathetic (often female drs are the worst!).

Good luck hun.

Thanks Omi! Thats brilliant.. I've searched for ages for one in Cornwall and found nothing.

It's funny you should mention that about femlae docs Mrs G. I've been seeing the female doc at my surgery rather than my own male doctor.. I wrongly thought that as sh'e female, with kids.. she might be more willing to help, but it seems I was wrong! She didn't even have a clue what I was on about when I showed her my FF charts!!

OH is going to make an appt with his doc, hopefully it will be nice and simple!

My Oh was offered a SA from his GP ( he's male :)), just like that. I think they like to give them out as they're very simple and cheap.

Omi xxx

Well OH just been to his doc, she told he cant have tests coz she cant see my notes (his doc is at a different surgury to mine) and even if she could he'd have to wait til we've been ttc for 12 months. Even tho the gyne would have been happy to refer us after only 2months ttc coz of recurrent mc's, had i not already had children :hissy:

Ouch, so sorry hun! Maybe you could call the clinic and ask how much it is for a SA there...?

Big Hugs, Omi xxx

Yeah I've had a look at the price lists on a site of a clinic someone gave me.. the male tests dont seem to be too highly priced.. but we'll give my doc a go first and see what he say's.. I've had it with female doctors!!
