Private rental house sites?

Does anyone know of any other than gumtree/viva street? We have been given an eviction notice as landlord is selling!! Have 7 weeks to find somewhere and ill have a 5 week old and 21 month old when we move so desperately need to get looking. Agencies out the question as we cant afford fees on top. Thanks x

Have you been to your local council's housing department? They don't just offer council housing and housing authority properties. They should also have a list of approved private landlords/properties. Good luck

Be carefull on gumtree sometimes can be simple scam.im friend looked for flat on gumtree once and found really nice one in good price in expensive area.she contacted the landlord or whoever that was and the person said that she is living in France and hers flat is empty and ready to be let out and she want let it so cheap just because she is looking for person who would look after flat and not trash it!person said that she had many offers before and turn out people didn't have money so to safe her trip from France she ask my friend to provide prove of funds by transferring her money via moneygram or something like that so she can see that my friend accually have the monet and she will return it to my friend her money back and she will come from france to make letting agreement and handle the key ect.my friend did it and never seen her money back or this flat also she never heard from woman again as her phone number died.
Please be carefull and don't get into deal until u see the person and sign the contract!i reckon local paper or council is the best if you want to avoid agents fees!

Davidjoemum is right - there are literally thousands of housing scams on gumtree. I've had first hand stories of people who have paid an 'admin fee' to secure a property to find that the supposed agent or landlord has taken the same money from around 7 other people and was never heard from again.

Be careful.

eta- I just saw the bit about agents fees...so rightmove might not be as good BUT they do have independent people on there too, I looked around one that was just a man renting no agent. Also some of the houses have offers like first months rent half price so then the agents fees might be more manageable xx
