I'm 36 weeks, had a fairly easy pregnancy besides horrendous spd that started up at 16 weeks (knew I'd get it after having it with my second badly).

Anyway, I've not bothered with Physio or anything as it just didn't help last time, so I've just managed it myself by following all the tips they tell you on moving and ways to get in and out of the car, and bed etc, and taking paracetamol when it's really painful.

Anyway today I had to do the school run in the pouring rain and after dropping my daughter off I popped next door to my parents house. To get to theirs you have to walk down a slightly sloped little path. With the rain we've had overnight it obviously has got a bit slippy and there was a patch that was a bit slimey from rotten leaves etc. I didn't see it and walked over it. I swear I pretty much did the splits trying to stop myself falling.

I am now in sheer agony. I feel like I've been ripped in half and maybe tmi but 'down there' feels like it's tingly and throbbing now.

Walking was never easy anyway and I had to take it easy, but I can literally only take tiny tiny fairy steps, and even that's a struggle. I want to cry with the pain.

I'm now home and have just taken some paracetamol. I've managed to get my youngest down for her nap so I'm trying to just sit here with my feet up. I've felt baby moving lots etc, but should I be worried about anything?

I mean I didn't actually fall over, I stopped myself, I don't know if I should be more worried. I mean the pain is awful but it's not like it's pain in my stomach.

That sounds super painful! Sorry you slipped!
To be honest as long as your stomach isn't hurting at all I'd say just rest up and hopefully the pains will go away, sounds like you've probably really pulled some ligaments or aggitated your spd.
Having said that, if you are worried, there's no harm in calling your midwife :)

Owie! That sounds painful.

As pp said, you didn't hit your bump so you should be fine but it couldn't hurt to call your mw and ask. I always err on the side of caution so would probably double check. I fell forward onto my knees in my first pregnancy at 38 weeks and was told that I should be fine but to keep an eye on babies movements and any unusual symptoms like bleeding. Nothing happened although...I did go into labour two days later!

You've probably pulled some muscles that were already tender and honestly, falling on a normal, non-pregnant day can be pretty painful. Hope you feel better soon!

If you are worried definitely call your midwife. A&E was useless when I fell and hit bump as they didn't have a Doppler or anything just an ear trumpet, and when they couldn't hear a heartbeat through that they took my being able to feel LO move as enough indication that she was fine :dohh:. So 4 hrs in A&E to be told what I already knew - my baby was moving.

Oh ouch :( you poor thing!

As the other ladies have said, I'm sure baby is fine although mentioning it to a midwife might be good idea. Try and take it easy :flower:

Ouch, I can imagine your pain xxxx 'hugs' xxxx

I fell last week and hit my head on a radiator and landed on my arm badly. Luckily I didn't break it, but it's only just getting back to normal so I can move it. I went to a&e and they just did an x ray, they didn't ask about baby.

I would say rest as much as you can as you will be sore for awhile. It's so easy to do yourself a damage. I'm trying to be so careful now. Hope u feel better soon xx

Thanks girls. I managed to spend most of the afternoon resting but oh my god the pain then when I did have to move was excruciating!

I think I've probably pulled every muscle there is to pull down there. I'm still having to take the tiniest steps and getting up or changing positions takes forever.

I did have some slight cramping earlier while I was led down but it wasn't tightenings or anything and didn't last long and baby was still moving.

I'm going to see how things are tonight and as long as baby is still moving normally and I don't get any more cramping and no bleeding then I think I'll be happy enough to wait until my midwife appointment on Wednesday morning.

God I hope this doesn't send me into early labour! A, I'm not ready at all, and have nothing sorted for baby, and B, I have to have a c section! Lol
