Probably just anxiety... but anyone else with stabbing pain and a "bulging" feeling?!

I've been getting a strange pain down low on my left abdomen. It comes and goes but it HURTS. It's like a stabbing pain that lingers? I thought maybe it was just RLP but it doesn't feel like that and also I get it when just sitting still.
ALSO (tmi coming up) I've been getting the weirdest heavy/bulging kind of feeling in my lady parts. I remember having something similar late in third tri. It's like when I went to the loo this morning :)blush:) I was afraid to "push" because it felt like something was being pushed down in my vagina and all the rest of my lady parts actually!! If you've had a baby before I would describe it as the pressure you feel as the baby's head is about to crown and you literally feel like EVERYTHING is moving to make room!!
I was worried I might have a cervical prolapse but I checked (I washed my hands first don't worry!) and I can nowhere near reach my cervix at all.

It's making me scared to go to the loo as I keep expecting to look down and see a big lump of mucus plug or something that would explain the pressure

I would contact my mw or doctor fr a check if you are worried. No question is too silly & it'll put your mind at ease. Soon, the holidays are here, practices are not open & you might go berserk with worry instead of enjoying the festive days!

I've decided I'm going to ring the Dr tomorrow. The pain has kept on all day and seems to actually be getting more frequent and more painful. Also have thrush at the minute so I need something for that anyway.

I have experienced the stabbing pain it comes and goes at no particular time...its enough to stop me from walking. It almost seems like baby is kicking a organ but I'm 16 weeks and I don't know how true that might be and as far as the bulging vagina feeling that is something I would have the first day of AF..its probably alot of blood flow to the area. I would talk to your Dr. about these issues to ease your mind and get a explanation on the cause

Thanks hotpinklily :) I've got an appointment with the nurse this morning so hopefully if she thinks it's anything to be concerned about she can go get a Dr to check me over :)

I've been having random occasional stabbing lightening crotch and then the weird pressure feeling. I like you felt like baby was going to burst out at any moment! It always subsides so not sure what it is!!!

I've been having weird pains too. Like the lightening crotch thing that pinkpassion mentioned.

Hi ladies :) so I saw the nurse this morning and she says I do indeed have a nasty bout of thrush. She said the pain "might" be to do with that but if I was concerned or if it got worse then to call the midwife. So after a couple of hours being home after that the pain was getting more frequent and I also experienced a few braxton hicks contractions so I rang the midwife on duty and she's got me an appointment tomorrow so they can have a liaten to baby to reassure me. She seemed to think it was probably ligament pain but was more than happy to get me some reassurance as she didn't want me worrying over Christmas :) I'm sure little miss is fine though as she's been kicking away.
Midwife also said to have some paracetemol, a warm drink and a warm bath which I did and haven't had any pains since!! Baby feels higher up though so I'm wondering if that might be why everything felt odd?

I would ask for an U/S to check your cervix length. I had pains and pressure last week and my dr fired up the ultrasound machine to make sure my cervix wasn't shortening and that membrane weren't bulging or anything which can feel like pressure down there. I'd have a dr check properly via ultrasound not just a Doppler as it doesn't say anything regarding contractions, cervix length etc.

Would a physical exam check the cervix too or only an ultrasound? (Sorry if that's a dumb question)

Sounds like what I went through with my daughter's pregnancy. I could barely walk by 20 weeks, extreme bulging pain that couldn't seem to be explained in my lady parts. Perfect cervix length. The pain went away when she was born and I haven't had that at all with my 3rd pregnancy. May have just been her positioning, who knows.
