Hello, I'm new here so I hope it's ok to post this question here:
Has anyone else noticed mucus in their EBF baby's poo immediately after starting probiotics?
I started giving her Flora Baby probiotics (only half the dose to start)-I let her lick it off my finger since she doesn't take a bottle very well. She is 4 months old and EBF. She has rarely had mucus in her stools, maybe only 2-3 times and a very small amount. Her stools have been pretty normal since the beginning. Anyways, the next day after giving probiotics, she had big pieces of mucus in her diaper, but not very translucent, and the color was as usual. She is also more gassy than usual (she's normally not very gassy). However, she has been happy and smiling as usual and doesn't seem bothered...so should I be worried about the mucus? Should I stop the probiotics or wait and see how it goes? Maybe her system is just getting used to it? Also I haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary...I have a photo, but I'm not sure how to attach it...
Thanks :)

...sorry..here is the photo...

I originally bought it to put as a paste on a small diaper rash, which I thought might be from yeast, and it cleared up quickly so i had lots of probiotics left over. I thought that I may as well use it up since it is healthy and it is made for babies.

Maybe it might benefit a formula fed baby? but I think breastmilk is the best probiotic going and adding anything else to LOs intestines could upset the right balance. Its not definitely the cause of the mucus (just having swallowed lots from a snotty nose can sometimes mean mucus nappies) but if you don't need to use the probiotic I'd not bother just in case.
