Hi Ladies

Asked this on Two week wait but thought I would have better look here :)

Looking for some advice on this. I am on my first clomid cycle (50mg 4-8). I found the side effects quite bad before o anyway I had my CD21 blood taken and my progesterone level was 49.9. I Know if I was 7dpo I would be thinking great that's a good number but doesn't that seam high for 3dpo?

I know exactly when I ovulated it was in the middle of the night of CD18/morning of CD19 as I woke with terrible pain in my ovary area like a throbbing pain lasted about 2hrs never had this before. I woke DH as I was quite worried. I had to take the next day off work as I just felt rough as hell but also a strange sense on relief as I have been so full/bloated before ovulation is this normal on clomid?

So really my questions are

is a 49.9 progesterone level very high for 3dpo?

are these painful side effect normal on clomid?

Thanks ladies

Hev xx

Hi, I don't know about the progestrone figure as I never had mine tested when I was on clomid, but I can tell you that the bloated feeling before ovulation can be normal especially if you have a good response to the clomid and produce quite a few follicles. I had four follicles once all a good size and felt bloated. I had the trigger shot and was warned that ovulation would be painful due to the amount of fluid coming out of the follicles when ovulation happened. Hope that helps.

As pp said, don't know about p numbers, but my temps were consistently higher on this clomid cycle than previous non-medicated cycles which suggests prog was higher.

And yes, I too could pinpoint ovulation as felt very similar to you. I had two follicles x

Thanks so much ladies, I feel better knowing you had the pain as well I was worried it wasn't normal and about taking it next cycle. Although on the upside I think it means I had a good response to it!

Thanks again :flower:

Hev162-- You're giving me hope. I had my cd21 blood drawn and mine was 45.9. So hoping there's a sticky bean in there this time.

hi there

I don't know about those pains, but my.progesterone was 130 on cd21! been told they'll check for multiples on my scan in 2 weeks as they hinted I might have released two eggs with that reading...eek!

49.9 sounds ideal to me :-) my clinic love high readings so be positive about that!

Thanks unfortunately there won't be one for me. My temp did a nose dive from 98.71 yesterday to 98.26. Expecting AF at any time.

I'm Sorry :( I do hope you get your BFP soon but remember as we always say you are not out until she arrives! Fx'd for you

:hugs: Hev x
